Yes, our AC is cranked up from about March to October. We don't need much heating, but use a lot of AC in AZ.

We only have perhaps a total of 2-3 months where either the AC or central heat is not going.

You're lucky to have that much time without heating or cooling. It normally goes straight from summer to winter and from winter to summer, so we are lucky to have even a month without one or the other. I love to be able to open up the windows and have the fresh air come in.

That's why I built the S room with two large sliding glass windows and a sliding glass door. I wanted to be able to let fresh air in, even if only a few days here and there.

That must be really nice! I'd hoped to have the greenhouse be close to our home, but our home pad is on top of a hill, with no room to build extras except down the hill.

I was going to add a link to a you tube video of a guy that grows pitcher plants. But I don't know how. If someone could tell me how I would like to share it.

I agree Yuck. I want a pitcher plant, but I'm hoping it will just be ants, and whiteflies or fungus gnats.

Mine is hanging up, so I think it would be a very enterprising rodent that could get into a pitcher.

They like to trail and the pitchers hang nicely unless it's one of those gigantic ones that gets so heavy it needs to sit on the ground.

No, they still do photosynthesis on their leaves, but nutrients-wise, they would really be happier with the food they catch Smiling

A lady at church gave me a plant, the paperwork she provided is titled "Caring for Nepenthes, Tropical Pitcher Plants or Monkey Caps". She said she could no longer care for it and hoped I could save it.

I told her I would pass it on to someone that cares for this kind of plant.

It is not faring well. For one, I set it on the back porch and I think it is sunburned. Second, possibly got too cold. 3rd, I let it dry out, but gave it a good soak. Soil drained rather fast.

The plant looks pretty bad. Crying Sad

If anyone would like to try and save this poor plant, please tree mail me. I'll send it out of the pot.

Reine, if you can keep it in the shade, warmer and moist all the time I'm sure it will recover. Right now it doesn't look like it would be worth the postage to send it somewhere.

Those plants sell for $25 each, in a much smaller pot than that one, so it's worth it to try to revive it.
