Ken, funny that you mention those yellow flags. When I saw them in photo, I meant to ask about them and forgot. I have them throughout my adeniums this year for the first time. Never had much of a problem w gnats, but for some reason this year they are bad. Atleast, where bad. They work like a darn and they really like my arms when are am fiddling around w my plants.
Generally, they are only around when they have moist soil to lay eggs in? The Adeniums definitely are on the dry side most of the time.

I use the sticky strips in the summer around the trunks of my Brugmansia's to catch the earwigs from crawling up the stems. Works really well as long as they are snug and they cannot crawl underneath.

Good for those pesky White Flies too.

Interesting about the capture of bugs using yellow. Some years ago our local Dept. of Agr. encouraged using yellow plastic cups smeared with a sticky glue substance as a way to capture and trap the false lady bugs that love to eat young vining plants like watermelon, melons, cucumbers. It works!

What was the sticky substance you used, KD? I read to use vaseline, but I made them out out of yellow paper with vaseline, and they didn't catch a thing. I bought them, and they are working well.

We have a product here that you can use and get at nurseries. It is called "Tanglefoot". It comes in a small container, similar in size to the 125ml sour cream.
The Yellow attracts many insects.

Thanks, Rick. I think I remember reading about this. I'll have to see where I can buy it. I'm sure it would be cheaper to do that.

I don't know what it was...govt. gave it out free to those who wanted it, we just had to buy our own yellow plastic drinking cups. They don't give it out any more.

Thank you all! Yes, it's the one I got at the flea market last weekend. The tag was missing and I didn't think to ask for the name...will ask this weekend if I see the vendor.

There was a bud on another stem but it fell off yesterday. Sad
The soil it is in is so fine...no aeration...will change the media today. She does not look like she had ever been pruned so am going to cut down some stems at the same time. I might as well try grafting scions from her too. Whistling

Thank you! It is not pure white...there is a very subtle pink tinge in the petals. You probably saw this but thought it might be caused by the camera or the lighting. Hilarious! Hilarious!

This is truly a pure and clear White bloom. So full too.
Gorgeous.
Rick

Just took a look back at photo and it is very subtle, but only visible from you mentioning.

This is my double white. I think yours has that faintest hint of pink blush, very striking. Mine has the greenish center and a pure white bloom. It's one of my favorites.
