This year I planted some balsam. I have grown it before, but it has been a number of years. I really like the way it looks along the edge of a shady border. With the flowers appearing all along the upper stems it is very nice!

These little Lathyrus sativus azureus have been smaller and sparser than I expected but they are such a brilliant electric blue. I love the color.

I just found Salpiglossis (Painted Tongue) this year and, man, are they gorgeous! And they were easy to start from seed and seem to like the pot they're in.

Meri ~ When did you start them?

I sowed the seeds March 5th and set out May 1st. Its now 3 weeks later and the plants are still bloomin like crazy and about 2' tall!

Have to be marigolds, zinnias, and salvias! Those never fail me.
