I wish I could go to the San Antonio swap so I could meet Sandi in person and see Linda again, I haven't seen her in a long time. She is so kind and generous, many of the native plants I have came from her, Bless you Linda. Smiling

Sandi, I like the idea of an Austin swap. San Antonio is 2+ hours away from me and Austin only 45 minutes. Maybe there is enough room in Texas for several swaps? Anyone up for one at Jonestown? Rolling on the floor laughing

@Bubbles, I am so looking forward to going to the swap. I haven't been to one in years. When I go to SA, it's usually just to go nursery hopping with friends
@LindaTX, looking forward to seeing you again Smiling

I'm going out to scout plants that may need dividing. It looks warm outside, but it really isn't.

I checked at Zilker and the tables on the grassy area by Barton Springs Pool are "first come, first served" basis. DH and I will drive over and look around next week. There's plenty of room for swap, it would just be nice to have it in a shady area with access to restrooms within walking distance. The area is also right across the street from the botanical garden. Within walking distance to Chuy's, Shady Grove, etc. and the food trailers, too.

Zilker Metropolitan Park is considered “Austin’s most-loved park.” This 351-acre park is home to a variety of recreation opportunities and special events for individuals and families. The main playground area has a large, multi-age playscape with swings and picnic areas, six of which are reservable. There is no grilling near the playscape.

_____The picnic tables can be reserved between 10am and 10pm at a cost of $60 for City of Austin residents/Austin Energy customers for events under 100 people._______

A $10 permit fee is required for moonwalks (which are not allowed near the playscape), and carnival rides, miniature trains, petting zoos and water/splash slides are not permitted. For more information on fees and how to make a reservation, click here. Electricity is available in some areas. Parking is $5/car on weekends in March-September and on holidays. Party planners can also consider purchasing tickets for attendees to ride the Zilker Zephyr. Lastly, you can plan an active birthday on the Great Lawn across the street, climbing Rock Island, playing Frisbees or having a picnic, although you’ll have to forgo restroom facilities (there is a water fountain).

We have a park in our subdivision. I just thought people may want to look around after they swapped and visited. Zilker is fairly easy to find too.
You're surely welcome to check out other spots! That would be fine. I wasn't thinking of getting anything together until next spring. If you want to do some thing this spring or fall, that's great! I just can't take on a spring project until I get our backyard flooding problem solved.

@LindaTX8 We are going to the swap! We did a little shopping yesterday around the area. It looks like the nurseries think winter is over, but are holding back a bit until right before Easter. We still came home with lots of plants!

I'm looking for small pots to put plants in. DD "helped me" last fall by clearing out every plastic pot she could find in my storage room!
