I'm about ready to move all my plants in the overwinter greenhouse where they belong, out front so they can be seen and in the sun. Think we'll be getting any more freezes?

I hope not. I've moved nearly everything out. Wish I had an evergreen tree to use until they harden up. I'm well north of you, so it could still happen. I have things scattered everywhere. Not much in place where they will spend the summer months.

Thanks Donald, I hate to see my Bougainvillea blooming inside the greenhouse. I guess I could put it out and if a freeze gets predicted I could throw everything back in. Good thing I've got a wagon to haul them around with.

Yeah, I got a cart. But I don't have a greenhouse, just a narror porch and cluttered garage. My Bougainvillea didn't grow to suit me. I think I'm going to prune it severely and hope I don't kill it.

I pruned one of mine way back last winter or early spring can't recall but by summer it was huge again. My tomato seedlings are crying to get into their tubs too.

I am going to try to get the last of everything out of the greenhouse tomorrow. It is supposed to be 90º on Monday. It's too hot for anything in there except for the dormant plumeria.

I'm with you Cheryl, I've got to cut the grass again before I do anything though thanks to all the rain we got last week. Sure we needed it but I'd just cut the grass the week before and I could look out the windows and watch it grow.

I had this same debate while putting the greenhouse that blew over back up this weekend. Chris - I used your idea (thanks for the pics again) and then added some cords over the top for good measure. Bring on the wind!

This year I plan to take the plastic cover off once there is no threat of cold and use this area as a shade house for my hoyas. I debated whether to leave it off now, but I ended up chickening out. I did plant tomatoes about 3 weeks ago since I had plenty of seedlings. I figure if they do get a cold snap I've got more I can put in.

Worried that this is going to a hot year with lots of bugs :(

Glad I could be of some help Kim. I've got to go to the feed & seed store and get some soil for my tubs to put mine in. They're growing out of the peat pots so I need to get it done soon. If they predict a cool summer like they predicted a heavy El Nino we're in really big trouble.

GH is officially empty. My body is officially sore.

Mine is too except for the three Hibiscus (I have to make some deer deterrent first), four Datura, and a very large Asparagus Fern. I've got some that need new pots that have cracked and broken over the winter cheap plastic pots.

I will have to bring in what plants I put out 10-14 days ago. We will be back in the mid-30's Saturday and Sunday nights. Hopefully, after that winter blast, I can "seriously" begin to put plants out for good (well, until fall ). The slowest part of moving the plants out is my having to inventory and then group my orchids into some sort of more manageable system. Without a system in place, finding specific orchids is difficult, since the vast majority will be up on tree-shelves and I have to climb a ladder to get to them.
