Wonderful article Tee! I'm not currently growing any herbs except Catmint for my cat
but I plan on having another herb garden next year, hopefully. There are many herbs that are Perennial in the south except when we have long exceptionally cold winters (like the last two) with freezes that kill a lot of plants.
I miss the wonderful fragrance of my Lavender plants! I've always wished Rosemary would do well here but it's just too hot for it to thrive for long. When I worked I didn't have time for tending a garden, herb or otherwise and I would purchase all sorts of dried herbs/seeds/berries from the San Francisco Herb Company and mix my own dry Potpourii. It was fun making little "Tussie Mussies" and potpourii gift baskets for the holidays. The combinations of herbs and scents are endless.
Thanks for this wonderful article with really great tips for the use of herbs! There's nothing better than an herb garden right outside your own door, fresh herbs for cooking and crafts.
