Yesterday it got up to 106F. It is already 73F at 6:45 AM. The air conditioner came on at 4AM. They are calling for a high of 110F today. That means it could be as hot as 113F at my place.

We haven't had much rain here either and we sure need it. Weatherman will say rain and then a few hours later they change the forecast to no rain. It was supposed to rain today, then they moved it to Tuesday and now they are saying Thursday. I had to go out and water early this morning before it got too hot.

It's already 89 here but it is also extremely windy. Without the wind it would seem much hotter.

Tucson broke a record by 3 degrees yesterday. It was 115 F. The humidity was around 4 %. So thankful for air-conditioning. It is going to be a week of above 105 temps here.

"Just" 94 and dry here....

94 sounds OK to me Barbalee. Not great but better then the 104 we are already at.

We also had two hikers die here in Tucson yesterday . Not enough water with them and way to hot to be out to begin with.

We had a little rain this afternoon as I was planting more tomatoes and peppers. I did not stop watering, and I did not stop planting. I also potted several interesting hot peppers. It felt good!

We just had a wild storm. Lashing rain, thunder and lightning, high winds and a tornado warning issued. I wanted rain and I got it, but it was kind of scary for a while

I hope no resulting problems, Valerie!

My garden is pounded down, but once everything dries it should be OK. The peonies are onthe ground, poor things

Don't you just hate when they reschedule your weather appointments? Sorry, the way you said it just struck me as funny

Another hot one for us, low 90's. Watching the front coming across Ontario....a tornado warning is scary stuff! The storms and front are suppose to move this way tonight, 40% chance of getting anything here but it is suppose to cool us off for the next two days. Tonight will be a "refrigerator" night (air conditioner) Cy loves it near 60f so do I. Watched the story on the news about the heat out west and the deaths, so sad. Be careful out there!

We are now officially in Summer. I'll start a new Summer thread first thing in the morning for us so we can continue to chat about todays weather, the last day of Spring, tonight.

It cooled right off after the storm. I have all the windows open now airing out the house. It is supposed to be about 58 f. overnight and in the low 70's tomorrow. What a relief after temps around 90 f. for the last few days.

We ended today at 112 F and a third hiker in Tucson has died from the heat. A 4th is missing. The search for him had to be halted this afternoon because of the extreme heat. It will resume tonight. He also was from Germany. I am sure they have never faced heat like this and thought it would be safe to hike. Such a tragedy.

So sad to hear of the hikers being lost in the heat hiking in the Tucson area.
