Terri do you have owls in your area? (I don't even know why I'm asking that) I live in the city and I love owls, guess that is why I suddenly thought 'Wow 20 acres, they should have a lot of owls there' nodding

Ooops, missed this. Yes! We do have owls. We have a pair in a tree out front. They leave in the spring and come back to the same tree in the fall. I don't go up on the hill that often, but I have seen them up there too! Hurray!

I recently realized that a number of Rosularia were moved to the Prometheum genus, like P. chrysanthum, P. muratdaghense, and P. serpentinica. Apparently Prometheum differs from Rosularia in "the absence of a well-developed caudex, the cymose instead of paniculate inflorescence, the usually less connate petals and the lack of ciliae along the leaf margins" (Illustrated Handbook of Succulent Plants: Crassulaceae by Eggli, 2012).

Does anyone know when this change happened? And do you find it's been adopted by gardeners and nurseries, or are people holding on to the old Rosularia name?

Hi Annie.
It was changed here in our database some years back, but we do show it 'Also sold as' in the entries under different synonym names.
Many of the nurseries are starting to catch up with the name changes in these and many other plants.
Same with the sedum changes, sempervivum changes.

I see for P. chrysanthum a date of 1995: http://www.catalogueoflife.org...

Hope this was helpful?

You are more than welcome Annie.
It was a shock to me when we had to go through the database way back when, and redo many of the names. Sighing!
You might think about putting something like Prometheum chrysanthum, formerly sold as Rosularia chrysantha. So people don't think they are getting a totally new plant in their collection.
