The bed was weeded to just dirt then the weeds came back in a very short time with a vengeance.

Oh dear - the Preen just arrived from Amazon. I thought it was a safe product!
What has been the experience of others using Preen?

There's two kinds of Preen, one is a chemical base and one is corn glucose and is safe. Jan it depends on which one you got. I has to be watered in and then you can't disturb the soil or it breaks the barrier of protection so they say.

I use preen in all my beds. works good for me but I also have mulch in them.. I very very rarely have to weed in the beds that have mulch and the beds I don't have mulch they have far less weeds

I was removing some spent stalks this morning and I cut off a good stalk. I can't blame the turkey's and deer this time....or can I?

I have been known to remove a hidden bud when removing a spent bloom. I hate it. Yes... definitely a turkeys fault.. one who's first name starts with the letter R.
