Hi Jeff.

Sorry I can't help you. Maybe there is advice here, but I didn't see Wodyetia.

BTW, do you really WANT to grow Foxtail? Where I live, it's a nasty weed.

Oh! Thanks. That's very unlike the @#$%@#$%^ weeds that have pushed me out of several beds.

Also, - DUHHH! - I was thinking of Horsetail (Equisetum arvense).

At least I haven't gone riding in many years. Confusing "fox" with "horse" could get you into trouble there.

Moe, our plant database has a little information about propagating Foxtail Palm (Wodyetia bifurcata) from seeds.

Keep us posted on your experience!

@RickCorey
Foxtail is also a weed grass, an agronomic and garden weed, common here.

Thanks, jmorth! Oh, that stuff! I thought that was an "ornamental" weed or grass, deliberately planted by someone who hates me. Nice to know its real name.

The "horsetail" that I was thinking of was this:

OK seeds are planted !! I exposed some of the actual seed before soaking them for 3 days in fresh water changed daily...I have now put them in a plastic container filled half way with media...Decided only to bury them about a half inch over the top with loose damp soil...I then took a piece of glass and covered the containerand put them in full sun( misting every day)...The plan is once germination takes place to Transplant them into 1 gal containers and put them in full sun...I will up pot as necessary..
