It's like I look at all those plants and want them, hoping they would all live.

Not a whole lot of succulents live through our zone 4 winters outside. I do have a collection of small cactus and succulents in my house but I don't take them outside in the summer. Too much to move.

Thank you for the warm welcome home. It is so good to be back.
Chris I see Amazon has that book on sale. I might have to get it.
I have just never been into the cactus, I guess because I would have to keep them in the house, not that much room in our small house.
I think we all know how much we like to interact with fun, friendly people, no wonder they love to see you Charleen. Lovey dubby I went and looked at the African bulb Charleen, very interesting. I will look for more in depth info on it to see if it would work in one of my succulent beds. Thanks for the heads up.

Welcome home Lynn, it must be nice to be back.
Chris, Your wreath looks great. I left my hosta and ivy wreath out all winter in a protected spot. It is growing very well but the wreath needs filled as there is very little left of the dirt and moss in the wreath form. I will have to decide if it is easier to just take the whole thing apart refill it and then replant it or try to beef it up. I will be replanting the sedum wreath later.

Holly, a host wreath? I have never seen one done that way. Can you show us a picture? I am very curious as to how that works. Do you use dwarf varieties?

Hosta wreath Big Grin I had it planted with mini hosta, ivy, impatiens, lobelia and a few other annuals. I was pleased that the hosta and ivy overwintered well but as you can see the wreath form needs some work.

I would never have thought of hostas in a wreath. I am just going to have to turn my thinking around.

I am thinking the tiny leaved Coral Bells 'Canyon Duet' would work with Sedum of different kinds in a wreath, or living wall. Mmmmm, I think Chris's thinking cap is starting to work for me.

The hosta wreath hung on the front wall of the house. The sedum wreath laid flat on the brick patio out back.

Sorry, I am not giving it back Chir. It's pretty nice to finally think of ways to use plants. Nope can't have it back Chris.
Maybe we could clone it and give one to everyone that comes by here?
Silly me, all of us are already doing that by sharing our experiences and photos. Rolling on the floor laughing
So much for cloning the Thinking Cap.
