Thanks on the warning about the Agave. It happens to be a clumping kind that is not supposed to get running and big, or so I was told.... but I may live to regret it.
I have the big Blue Agave elsewhere and it is really a problem and I decided not to add it to that patch for that reason.

I am super excited to have gutters on the front of the house now, so no cascades of water on my succulent project from here on! Now I can finish my planting.... Hurray!

Progress has been made!!
We still need to be able to access the front windows for the purpose of putting up shutters, so I promised my DH to leave about a foot away from them so he can get behind the plants. I suppose I should also refrain from planting anything too prickly there....
Here is what it looks like now. I am still trying to decide what to plant in the section where the 'riverbed' veers away from the windows. Suggestions?

My Aloe striata has been given pride of place on the little mound, I love that plant.

Pachy corner. The big P. lamerei have been there for about 6 years. The crested one has been placed in front of them.

This has become quite a spiky corner... I hope the Cereus peruvianus takes, it is a cutting. There was no way to move my really big one.

This is all for today. I'm going to get a few big flagstones today!

Hetty that is really coming together fast. I love the tall P. lamerei. Fascinating plant. What is the plant in the pot at the bottom of this photo.

Thanks. Well spotted on the potted Agave which is Agave nizendensis, not a common one, I snagged it a few weeks ago. Smiling

It looks so much like my little seedling from this summer. I still don't know what it is.
It is easily damage, the skin is so thin and tender.

Lynn, the Agave nizendensis has a very distinct stripe down the center of the leaves.

Lynn, it does say 'Aloe' more than 'Agave' to me.
Thanks Gus!! I am taking my time with this project and having fun. Waiting for a few nice big rocks now.... And just found someone offering a large cactus on freecycle and waiting to see if I get it! Smiling
