I recently replanted 2 phalaenopsis orchids, both were 3 years old and were were getting too big for their original pots. I replanted them in slightly larger pots and used an orchid media to replant them in. That was about 1 month ago , both of them have started to lose their leaves . 1 has lost 2 leaves and the other 1 leaf, the other leaves on both of them are very limp and have started to turn yellow. Help.

Hello Brian, I would check the condition of the roots. The container you used is also something I would not find suitable for it. Phal roots love lots of air around it. The media you used seems okay, but depending on your watering frequency which at this time should be of longer intervals to allow dry out time, so either there is root rot or collar rot.

Typically I would repot in a container with more side holes and putting the plant at an angle, and really be careful with watering during the cold months.

Also, is the plant still in bloom? If the blooms are already done, you can also trim down that bloomstalk so the plant can try and refocus its energies to root formation and eventually new leaves.

Good luck, hope the plant can still recover. At times if collar rot has already set it, it will just be a slow demise. But take it as a learning curve and try a new one again later. I have had my hits and misses with Phals before I finally understood its quirks.
