As a comment about Wax Plant (Hoya carnosa 'Chelsea'), plantladylin wrote:

I have two of this particular Hoya, one from a cutting I received in a trade and the other purchased from Home Depot a couple of years ago. It's not a particular favorite of mine although I do find the foliage interesting compared to other carnosas. Neither of my plants has produced blooms yet and I'm again hoping that next summer they will grace me with a flower or two.

I grow this as I do other Hoyas, in bright light and a fast-draining, chunky potting medium.

I no longer have the plant Hoya Chelsea. We moved awhile back and I downsized and got rid of a lot of my plants because I just don't have the time to properly care for so many.

I found one vendor who has Hoya Chelsea listed for sale: http://site.mawebcenters.com/a... and you can read recommendations for this company that some of our members have written here: Accents for Home and Garden (Pepper's Greenhouse)

My "chunky" potting medium is a combination of potting soil and orchid bark which creates a light, well draining mix. I've found this works best for me because most bagged potting soil holds too much moisture and adding the bark creates air pockets around the root system which keeps them from rotting. A lot of people add extra perlite to potting soil which helps with drainage too.

If you have questions regarding your Hoya's or other houseplants, come on over to our Houseplant Forum where we love to discuss and share growing tips, photos etc.: https://garden.org/forums/view...
