I saw this and thought of y'all and had to share
Hope to be back on here more soon. The house is ready to move in and then this one will have to be tweaked to sell.

That's so cool. Maybe some early birds will come from further south and when they get up this way something will eat those dried meal worms I bought. Nothing is touching that feeder so far.

I hope so, most of our birds here have disappeared
They are still around at the new place but I can only feed them when I am there. If I leave food, the squirrels get it

Squirrels are exceedingly clever at figuring out ways to get into the bird's food, aren't they? They don't bother the one with Nyjer seeds for the finches, but after the finches find it the number of birds keeps increasing until it's hard to keep up with filling it Big Grin . I set up an arch using bull panel wire for the vines last year and I've hung the feeders on that arch beginning with one last summer. I figured the dead vines and wire overhead would give the birds some protection from the hawks. A bonus has been that the squirrels haven't gotten into it yet. I think they don't really like to climb the wire and the feeders are suspended on those long S hooks as well. Probably they've just had enough natural food otherwise this year and so haven't been motivated enough to figure out how to get up to the feeder.
