I started this plant last year from seed and over wintered in my small greenhouse.

Is there anyone who grows this plant in an area where it freezes back each year? I'd like to ask how much top growth can be expected each season when it dies back to ground level during the winter months. Trying to decide the best location for it, based on expected seasonal growth.

Thank you for taking time to share this information. It sounds to be an amazing native plant for the home garden. I'm excited to grow this plant for the hummers. I'd thought, initially, to grow it in a dappled sun bed but after looking at photos of this plant in garden settings, it looks like it can survive in a full sun location. I'll try a heavy mulch around the root area and hope for the best.

Thank You! Myles
