I'd like to have a pot of lilliput zinnias on the table on my front porch. Any suggestions on how deep a pot they'd need? I have a pot I'd love to use, but I'm afraid it's too shallow (only about 5" deep).

Lilliputs can get to 24" tall which seems tall for a table top. Especially in a 5" pot. Is it a clay pot? I'd be afraid they'd be top heavy and tip over. How many plants were you going to put in the pot? Whats the pot diameter?
Zinnias aren't deep rooted but still, it wouldn't give the roots much room in a 5" pot. Specially with more than 1 plant. I think I'd go 7 or 8" minimum mostly to balance the height.
How about a shorter variety? Magellan gets 14" and Zahara 12"
A pot of Zinnias sure would brighten up your porch!
Google "pics of zinnias in pots". You'll get a ton of ideas!
It's a wide, shallow pot, 12 inches across and about 5 inches deep. Hmmm, I might still have a few Zahara seeds. Darn, I didn't think the lilliputs got that tall. Oh well, guess that one may end up with petunias instead.
