"In 1895, Verlaine published Rimbaud’s complete works, and thus secured his ex-lover’s immortal fame. Both Rimbaud’s life and poetry has inspired a great number of poets and artists, including the French symbolists, Surrealism, the counter-culture Beat Movement, and the musicians Bob Dylan, Jim Morrison and Patti Smith."
Another quote I found was that one cannot underestimate the influence of Rimbaud on modern poetry.
One of my all time favorite music CDs is Sarah Blue by Hector Zazou. A wonderful music producer. He gathered a group of musicians (some you know some you don't?) to perform their interpretations of some of the poems of Arthur Rimbaud. Diverse and most interesting IMO. I have no idea how many times I have listened to it. Not for everyone though.
I just downloaded a nice PDF of English translations of many of Rimbaud's poems.

Give it a listen and/or read. Gene
