Ha!
I thought of it when I heard you could recycle metal foils in the recycle bin collections. It does work really, really well.

Anther thing to think about (and try) is putting fresh lavender cuttings in the water. Supposed to prevent the algae... I don't know what the birdies think about that.

Susie, I read the thing about the lavender but the thing I read said to put 6 flower stalks of lavender tied together with a daylily leaf in the birdbath. I've always wondered if that works but lavender didn't grow down south so i could never test the theory.

Hmm, maybe scrubbing with that would work better than that old smooshed up toilet brush I've been using... Rolling on the floor laughing
Thanks for the tip!

Linda,
You do need scrub, obviously! Depends how dirty it is. But, it does make a good scrubber.

Thought it might be fun to hear from folks who actually took advantage of various tips found here. I had a couple wads of foil today and decided to clean my birdbath of some algae. Works like a CHARM.

...and the foil can still be recycled once finished as a scrubber. Big Grin
