Can you tell me anything about it? I've read that it blooms all summer?

Sounds like a tough one to grow . From what I read it does not tolerate heat or humidity or wet soil during winter. Also said that it is a short lived perennial.

When you get down to it though, not many plants like wet feet in winter. Those of us with clay soil can attest to that- many such plants are short lived. I was more concerned about things I read about "reseeds proflically" and "will grow out of cracks in sidewalks or stone walls", afraid that it might take over my yard. Many, many plants have tried.

I was impressed by info that it blooms all summer in shade.

I have grown it a couple times and can say it is short lived, or does not like my place. It is still worth giving it a try , very beautiful plant . Yes to the question it does bloom all year but only lightly after the first full flush in late spring.
My first plant came from a lady who had several plants and they were huge , she said she had them a long time and had divided them several times .

Oh, Cinda, that's pretty. Do those flowers attract hummingbirds? They look like they should.

Hummingbirds arrive rather late here and this flower is in full bloom in April and early May so I have not seen hummers around it .

Corydalis lutea is almost to willing here in Utah. It seeds all over my yard and I pull and discard bushels of it each year. I do like it with my hosta though so don't get rid of it completely..as if I could. It does bloom all summer and the foliage is wonderful with hosta.

GE is a slow grower but well worth the wait. Mine are several years old. I grow it in three places in the yard. The ones pictured get good morning sun. They also like a little extra water and fertilizer. I give them some Miracle Grow several times during the summer. Look at it on the data base.

I agree with Cinda, great combo!

Now, I just figured out my corms aren't C. lutea, they're C. solida 'Beth Evans'. Hope they live longer than the lutea!

As far as I know that the Corydalis lutea sometimes known as the yellow-colored bleeding heart. It has delicate blue-green vegetation that is protected with smooth yellow-colored blossoms from springtime through summer.

Corydalis lutea grows very easily here. It tolerates dry shade very well (the place I find it most useful) and blooms throughout the season.
