Hi all! I'm new here.
We bought our new property just last year and now I'm trying to solve our pond problem.
There is quite a big pond just off the track by the gate.
It's nice to have a pond, but the problem is, we can't see it at all!
There's a tall hedge all around it. There is a bit where one of the bushes died and the wall of the pond seems to be caving in a bit, which is a problem seeing it's so close to the track. So obviously, there's no chance of removing the other bushes.
Does anyone have any ideas what to do with it? Could I maybe replace the hedge bit by bit with smaller plants that would hold the walls up?
Here are some photos, so you can get an idea:

It seems the last owner tried to reinforce the walls with big sheets of metal. Not very pretty at all and it's all rusty.

If anyone could give me a few tips I would really appreciate it.

does the pond have a liner?
how old is the pond?
the pond looks lower than the surrounding area?
