I am going to try to drill some with a diamond hole bit most likely the Dewalts or maybe the Bosch. No problems with the actual drilling I was just wondering if you drill one one or multiples holes.

Hi Ed. It depends on the size of the container, and the size of the hole/holes you drill.
I prefer to drill just one hole.

Lynn,I was thinking 3 holes but yes maybe one good size one would work. I guess I should experiment on a few old bowl & see what works.

You can use a piece of screen or landscape fabric over the hole. Let me know how it does for you.

Lynn, the hole saw worked well I got a 3/8" and a 5/8 bit". After I made a few test holes on a old bowl I drilled this cup I want to use its a good size about 4" so I used the 5/8" . I have a drill press which makes drilling a little easier.

Great job Ed. Bet that drill press was a huge help.
