I own a business that fabricates product models for other businesses (B2B). We have a shop with
tools and equipment for wood, plastic, and metal.

Many years ago I started helping high school and college students with their projects. My business
can be grueling. The only fun I have in our shop is assisting in the construction of these student
projects.

The latest project has become a nightmare! I started with several natural color (translucent) 5-gallon
buckets. I was planning to cut and reshape these buckets. I did not realize that the ink on all large
buckets is permanent. Heat and chemicals are used to etch or fuse the print into the plastic. Also,
you cannot purchase unmarked 5-gallon buckets in the USA. The law requires a hazard warning label.
Small children can drown in large buckets.

I've been searching for a substitute. I found a few translucent trash cans that are too small. Large
food storage containers usually have barely visible logos (like Rubbermaid) and graduated lines for
ounces or milliliters.

I was shopping in Target when I noticed these very rugged plastic (or synthetic rubber) planters. It's
a 12" RE (Room Essentials) tapered planter, priced at $5.49.

For this student project the only critical dimension is the bottom diameter. 8-1/2 to 10 inches. The
12" tapered Target planter is the right size. Obviously, it's not translucent.

If they exist, I need help finding translucent planters similar to the 12" Target model. Horizontal or
vertical banding lines are ok, but they cannot be colored. The entire container must be translucent.
Several are required, so cost is a factor.

A suggestion: you have to have ties with the schools from which your students come, check with their food service people, I recall food service buckets having paper labels, not being printed on directly. Or check directly with a food service supply company, perhaps they have paper-labeled buckets that they can legally sell you, I remember a lot of people buying food-grade barrels from a lot of these companies to use as affordable rain barrels, perhaps they are used to working with people who need something other than 100 lbs. of chicken nuggets. Several years ago I purchased a semi-translucent bathroom garbage can from Bed Bath and Beyond with no markings. Not sure if the dimensions would work or if they still carry such a thing. Certainly not 5-gallon though.
