has anyone used the new gloves that have the clawed finger tips? I can see them being useful for digging a hole but would they get in the way of other chores?

Yes! My kids gave me a pair for my birthday last month and I love them. I do have to take the right glove (only one has claws) off for fine motor jobs but haven't run into that too often. They're comfortable and really fun for pulling weeds and digging small holes for planting.

My arthritic hands get tired, at least the right one does because I'm using it more, but overall, they're great!


I wore them to do some weeding at the school garden. When one of the Kindergarten classes came out for a garden visit, the kids said my gloves were "really scary!! " .

How fun! Are the claws interchangable? I'm left handed and digging with the right hand would be awkward. I'd probably stick my eye out! LOL

Nope, they're firmly attached. You can order the gloves with the claws on the left hand, though. I looked on Amazon, and you just have to enter "claw gloves, left hand" in the search box.

I did that and found the left handed claws but it said that they're one size fits most. One size fits most are huge on me, I like my gloves to fit snuggly. I did find the Honey Badger brand that came in different sizes. I might have to try them.

I finally used mine the other day. They were a little cumbersome but would work great in looser soil than i have.

Yes, they're not great for every job, but for weeding and planting small transplants I've found them just wonderful.
