Great banner, Margaret. I, too, am wondering what kind of flowers. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

I was also wondering what flower? At first I thought maybe it was Bougainvillea bracts, but not in Canada! Peonies?

My favorite colors! Absolutely beautiful Margaret. I too am wondering what flower this is. Does this mean you have Spring instead of snow nodding

I bet you're right, Rita. Whatever it is is beautiful. I haven't had azaleas in years. They aren't very happy in the southwest, even as houseplants.

Thank you everyone for the great comments on my banner. I tip my hat to you.

It is actually a flower spike that I took a sideways shot to make the banner, I do not know what plant it is as it was here when we bought the house 16 years ago, it is a tough plant to survive here for that long, it is tall, maybe 4 or more feet, tolerates drought and cold, the bees love it.

Thanks Sean. No it isn't lupines, I am very familiar with those, notice the leaves are single, long and narrow on this plant.

Close up of the blooms.

I am wondering if it isn't Purple Loosestrife. From that new closeup picture looks like it could be.
