What kind of flowers?

I was also wondering what flower? At first I thought maybe it was Bougainvillea bracts, but not in Canada! Peonies?

It looks like Azalea flowers to me.

I bet you're right, Rita. Whatever it is is beautiful. I haven't had azaleas in years. They aren't very happy in the southwest, even as houseplants.

I love Azaleas. I have plenty in my garden here.

It is actually a flower spike that I took a sideways shot to make the banner, I do not know what plant it is as it was here when we bought the house 16 years ago, it is a tough plant to survive here for that long, it is tall, maybe 4 or more feet, tolerates drought and cold, the bees love it.

Looks like lupine to me. Nice inheritance.

Thanks Sean. No it isn't lupines, I am very familiar with those, notice the leaves are single, long and narrow on this plant.

I am wondering if it isn't Purple Loosestrife. From that new closeup picture looks like it could be.

Loosestrife gets my vote.
