Here in Zone 5a/b roses are not for the faint of heart. For some reason (known only to God & meteorologists) the Arctic winds bring down the bitter cold and hard freezes into our state! Roses do require winter protection here depending on variety of course. Those cultivars listed for Zone 6 just do not cope with the bitter winters here unless you live in a well protected micro-climate. With this said the hardy ones are a must have in the landscape! Pictured in the banner are from left Champlain, Yellow Rose of Texas, Lillian Gibson, A Wild Roadside Rose & White Rose of York. My camera does no justice to them. This is the actual photo I used of the first rose (Champlain) in the banner.

Thanks Karen,
Added note; the white rose on the right end of the banner does not show. This is the rose, 'White Rose Of York' used in the banner. It will be a power house of fragrance this month.

Lovely banner, Leon. Too bad the last one doesn't show. Thumbs up

York shows on my screen. And all nice. I'm in deer country so nature is even trickier for roses.

Sean, do you have a wide monitor? I haven't updated mine in a few years; maybe that is my problem?.

It shows on my screen if I have it full screen. Normally I have it reduced, and it didn't show then.

Leon: A beautiful banner and the information alongside.

Just FYI: The size of your screen mode dictates the view you're going to get. If your printing (lettering) is going to be small, you will get the full view of the banner. If the print is enlarged...something's got to give, and your banner gets shortened. The wide monitor helps a lot, but is only secondary. We now just have less space to place our banner photos into.

Thank You!
@Fleur569. I had never paid that much attention until the "White Rose of York" didn't show up in the banner. Always figured it was the web-site logo that took up the extra space. Now I know why; and it's such an easy thing to switch back and forth! One person can never know enough! Appreciate your input! (The nice complement too!) Thumbs up
