I had NO idea there were red and purple foxglove! Those are so pretty.
We have the naturalised.foxglove here on the property but they range from pink to a rare white one once in a while. They haven't started blooming here yet.
What a treat your photo is.
My wild ones are mostly lavender, can't remember any pinks, maybe some whites. I've tried collecting seed but have not yet been able to get them established on my hillside. They seem to prefer the ditches. That is quite a stunning photo!
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
@Toni, @Bonehead: Sorry to say that the labeling is not quite exact. The red is not foxglove. They are the Echium Tower of Jewels flower, as the labeling states. Only the light white is the foxglove. This was taken just a few days ago at the Chicago Botanical Gardens. They are very tall, at least 5 feet tall and very impressive.
