My name is Ann. I have a problem. I collect OP seeds and I grow them even though I have no space for them. I try to take them to plant sales, but sometimes I can't part with them.

2009 seedling from 'Little Red Rooster'. Fast growing with slightly red petioles.

Thumb of 2017-06-27/ViolaAnn/a4e2e3
2009 seedling from 'Touch of Class'. This one started out more dramatic than the other, but hasn't done as well the last couple of years. It MIGHT go to a plant sale next year.

2009 seedling from 'Touch of Class'. This one has reddish petioles and is dramatically larger this year than last. It also has a touch of flourescence to its colour.

2010 seedling from 'Deja Blu'. A nice blue hosta that I'm rather fond of. It is flanked my 'Francee to the left and 'Captain Kirk' to the right. If I keep it, it needs more space.

2012 seedling from 'Christmas Pageant'. I nearly sent this one to plant sales in 2016 and then I looked at it again. It's got ATTITUDE in spades. It's in a 12" pot. Am wondering if 'Liberty' is its dad since the two plants are adjacent!

2012 seedling from 'Korean Snow'. Was moved this spring and when I moved it, I divided it. I MAY keep some of it, but I suspect it will go to plant sales next spring.

2012 seedling from 'Salute'. So far, I quite like this plant.

Thumb of 2017-06-27/ViolaAnn/09b5a8
2013 seedling from 'Fire Island'. Moved this one into my garden. I like the peculiar green colour of the leaves. A bit of red in the petioles.

Thumb of 2017-06-27/ViolaAnn/ab3ea2
2013 seedling from 'Neat Splash'. These plants all came from one seed and various eyes of the plant were dramatically different. I separated them autumn 2016 and it's interesting to see how different they all are. I'll be watching them for awhile.

2013 seedling from 'Spilt Milk'. This one was moved and divided spring 2017. I think it will be a keeper but am wondering how large it will get.

A 2013 seedling from 'Touch of Class' has nice red petioles.

2014 seedling from 'Charlotte's Web'. This one may go to sales next spring.

2014 seedling from 'Harpoon'. I moved this one and can see it better than in the seedling bed. I liked the wavy leaves, but think it may be on its way out next spring.

2016 seedling from 'Curly Fries' 1. Lots of seedlings from 2016. I like the long, narrow, wavy leaves.

2016 seedling from 'Curly Fries' 2. Another from 2016. Leaves not as long and narrow as on the previous seedling.

2016 seedling from 'Salute'. In general the seedlings bear watching for a few years. They often have a nice upright form.

Thumb of 2017-06-27/ViolaAnn/70ad0d
2016 seedling from 'Spilt Milk'. This one is a definite keeper, at least for awhile. Seems to have a nice upright habit and is entirely misted.

2016 seedling from 'Tickle Me Pink' 1. Just watching these for a couple of years because the pod parent is so interesting.

These are older seedlings that I've kept and named.
Thumb of 2017-06-27/ViolaAnn/0fc3d6
'Amy's Choice' - a 2007 seedling from 'Korean Snow'. Initially it was a bit misty in the leaf centre, but no longer.

Thumb of 2017-06-27/ViolaAnn/28ad34
'Dancing With Leila' - 2008 seedling from 'Last Dance' which is inversely coloured from the pod parent. It looks so much like 'Dance With Me' that I paid tribute in the name. Also named after my second granddaughter.

Thumb of 2017-06-27/ViolaAnn/53b5b4
'Golden Nolan' - a seedling from 'September Sun' that's at least a decade old. I eventually decided to keep it but went back and forth for several years. Named after my only grandson.

Thumb of 2017-06-27/ViolaAnn/bdc242
'Lovely Leila' - a seedling from 2006 of unknown origin. I did have it marked but the markers got moved during its first winter in the garden. Named after my second granddaughter. It emerges with varying degrees of mistiness in the leaf centre. This year is was near-white. And it mists up during the season, sometimes to solid green. It's about 50% larger this year than last.

Thumb of 2017-06-27/ViolaAnn/f620bb
Not named, but a weedling that I'm keeping. Probably from 'Lakeside Zinger'. It's quite small and 5 years old now. It's got leaves like leather and some of them have white streaks through them. For size, that's 'Grand Prize ' in the lower right.

Another that I missed above.
Thumb of 2017-06-27/ViolaAnn/da63c0
A 2012 seedling from 'Lemon Frost' is very tiny.

I will name some of these in the near future. Need another named after my first granddaughter, Amy. Maybe another named after my grandson Nolan. And the third granddaughter, Heidi still needs one or two named after her. I never name a seedling until it's a few years old because they change so dramatically, but I welcome suggestions both for appropriate names, and which plants YOU think I should name. Big Grin
Ann
