This forum makes me drool. I almost bought some from Lynn a couple if months ago but she cautioned me to try a couple from a local source to make sure they would survice our hot summers. So far, so good. However, I wonder if there are others in areas with sunny hot & humid summers who might recommend certain semps shown to tolerate these conditions as sort of a beginning thrust. We have the potential for cold winters as well, but the last 6-7 have been mild. Thoughts?

When I was living in CA zone 9, I had problems with the arachnoideum types being in a raised bed in afternoon sun. I found that they did better when I tucked them into the shade of the bigger rocks in the bed. See the hairy semps closer to the rocks?

Check out this list of semps that sandnsea2 has. She has grown semps beautifully in her hot and humid North Carolina garden.

Plant Delights Nursery in North Carolina has conducted trials on semps that can handle hot/humid summers. The three semps they carry are: Carmen, El Toro, and Oh My.
