Steve,
Maybe I don't really know what a watermark is, but I can't see one in any of the database photos or on the hybridizer's photo on AHS. Is there one? I can see a big one on the photo of the one child plant from this one. Thanks.

Really attractive photo, BTW.

Hi Donald,

I am not sure I am the right person to answer this, as I didn't even know there was a "Plant Photos Forum". LOL

When I think of watermarks, TRUGANINI doesn't immediately come to mind because the watermark is so small. One could almost call it a slightly extended threat, except that the cool thing about this flower area is that it is raised above the rest of the flower tissue. Coming out of the throat is this stark white thick area has needs to be called something, because it is so distinctive. I am not sure any photo could accurately capture it.

I will see if I can get a closer image of what I am trying to explain.....but it won't be today....raining heavily.

Thanks,

Steve

I enlarged the photo above, and it does give you some idea of what I was trying to explain....especially the lower section.

Thanks Steve. I had noticed that feature in your photo, but it's not what I think of in terms of what a watermark is. I'd agree it probably needs to be called something, though.
Thanks.

Looks like the hybridizer got watermark and applique mixed up. nodding

Hi Steve! Any time someone comments on an image in the database, it creates a thread here in the Plant Photos Forum.
All kinds of forums you probably don't know about. Thumbs up
