Waterproof Garden Boots Idea

Looking for waterproof garden boots? They can be mighty expensive. But you don't have to stick to the normal "labels" such as "garden boots." Think outside the box. They are called "cement boots" and they're worn by construction workers who work with cement & plaster products.

I do occasionally wish I had some boots even in this desert area so I will keep that tip in mind. Never would have thought about looking for cement boots ! Thanks for the tip. Thumbs up

Great idea! I don't have a need but I can see that someone with a truck garden or vineyard would find this a great solution.

Thanks Linda & Susie. When we lived in south Fl. I never had need of such either. And even though I have no garden here yet we immediately found we NEED them. There are so many times we go to our land & the grass is wet from dew. That dew will soak your tennies & wick right up your jeans in no time at all.

I got those for my hubby from HD. They were only $16 or $18 with free shipping. A darn sight better than paying $40 & up! Women would have to go to the actual store & try them on as they are made in men's sizes unless you already know what size you take in men's. You can also Google rubber boots or PVC boots, waterproof boots. Just think outside the "gardening boots" box.

Useful info. I use boots much of the year. Packs in winter but in spring, it is sometimes wet and soggy for a while so these would come in handy. BTW, I typically order the largest Boy's size and they fit me fine at a women's 7, are sturdier and priced lower than women's stuff.

Good to know size Jamie. So I'm a 7 1/2 sometimes 8. Would you say that boys size would still be applicable?

Hummm...Boy's size 6 might be too short. I think that is the biggest boy's size. Since width and type of shoe also makes a difference it might work for boots designed for socks. You might try that at a store before online and see but generally, even if you have to go to small men's you still usually get a better price and sturdier construction. Here, this might help: http://aglobalworld.com/intern...

I could not function without my trusty Bogs..................I wear them to every dogfight around the farm and they last like iron. Only reason I have to get new ones is I wear the bottoms into "slicks". Green Grin! I wear them all the time and a pair lasts me a year, at least. Granted, they are pricier than what what quoted for those particular boots at the top of this thread.
