I am new to this forum and would appreciate any help you may give me.
My wife an I have just completed the the fountain pictured above. The fountain is the on the west side of our house and will experience heavy evaporation, also our water has a high mineral content. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to prevent lime deposits on the fountain.
Thank you in advance.

Bill

Will it be used by birds/animals? Got to be careful about adding any chemical to it, if so.

On the pump end put charcoal in a net might help. You could also put charcoal mixed with your rocks.

Ctcarol and Cinta, I apologize for taking so long to respond to your posts.

Ctcarol, the fountain is pictured above. It will not house plants and birds will not likely be able to make any use of it.

Cinta, the hint about using charcoal is certainly something that I will consider.

Bill Thank You!

If no one will be bathing or drinking out of it, you can run a gallon of white vinegar through it when it gets bad. You would have to rinse it out though as I'm sure the vinegar would be hard on the pump membrane.
