Hi my name is Dwayne Nickel. My wife are retired marketing professionals living in Florida. We created a product called Sun Strength Testing. This is an effective, economical and easy to use product that reads the sun intensity which is then matched to the label on each plant. (shade, low light, part light and full sun). For more information so to [email protected].
It can be used by all gardeners "take the guess work out of plant placement".

How can we utilize the Association?

Hi & welcome! That looks like a super idea! Even experienced gardeners can have difficulty assessing/quantifying sun exposure if they have busy lives, make changes, trees grow, all things that have probably contributed to the development of your product.

The administrator of this very busy site may not have noticed your question in this very busy forum page of the site. If you use the site's "tree mail" feature to send a note to Dave (username Dave,) your question should get his attention.

I think you could do a lot of business with an indoor version also. So many fails with houseplants could be avoided by avoiding the ever-so-common misinterpretation of "low light, medium light, high light" that is so often put on houseplant labels, causing many of the plants to be erroneously put in corners that are much too dark, and darker than what "low light" means in regard to a potted plant inside of a building.

Best luck!

Two things come to mind: (1) You may want to explore placing an ad on this site, which would be done through Dave as noted above. (2) You may want to post this in the Classified forum, which is specific to folks wanting to sell garden related items. I'm guessing an actual ad would get more exposure, although many folks have that feature blocked.

I agree

Vendors sometimes send products to @dave so he can test and review them.

We also have something called Not-A-Raffle-Raffle; donating several of these kits would get them into the hands of the winners and word of mouth advertising will do the rest.
