The last several days it has not been going to the first unread message. I have checked my settings and it's ok. It doesn't made any different if I'm on my iPad, iPhone, or PC - sometimes it goes there but most of the time I have to scroll down until I get to the end.

I've had that too, I put it down to our "high speed" internet not being all that "high speed" and the whole page tries to load before it can go to the first unread. I find that if you click on "first unread" at the top of the posts it will go straight there, ready or not.

I've had the same problem. I never even noticed that 'first unread". Thanks Sue!

Hmm, I haven't seen this happen at all, and can't imagine what would be causing it. Could you let me know if it continues over the next couple days?

Dave, could it be an ad that is slow to be fetched and loaded and delaying the page from being completed? I've had that happen elsewhere.

I am seeing it, and I don't have the ads enabled, Sue.

Yeah, what Karen said. The ads were my first thought, but I checked and see that ads are disabled for a few people in this thread.

I'm having issues as well, although it isn't consistent. For what it's worth, the issue started, for me, about the same time as the change in the way photos are displayed occurred. Shrug!

P.S. I've had the ads disabled for a long time.

That was when it started for me, Danita, but now I'm not able to reproduce the problem. It seems to be fixed so far.

I just had it on one of the threads again but not another one. It just started several days to a week ago (I didn't keep track) and if I'm on either the iPad or iPhone it's really annoying, but on the desktop I just hit Ctrl End and it goes to the bottom then I scroll up to see where it started. I haven't done anything that I know of that would change anything. If it were just on the Apple products I would think it was an update there, but it also does it on my HP.

Ginny, clicking on "first unread" at the top of the page doesn't work for you?

I have also been seeing that lately. I am thinking the new picture sizing has something to do with it also.

I can't imagine how the new photo size would have affected this.

It just happened to me. If I can remember where I was then I'll come back and edit this.

And yes, I do have 'first unread' as a default and when that doesn't work, I am able to click on it.

Found it. (That was quick, eh?) Happened here: Texas Gardening forum: Texas Weather!

Speaking of Apple products, I've had 3 phone calls (recorded messages) today from Apple, regarding a security issue. I just keep hanging up, as I have no Apple products.

Sue I can go to the top and click on First Unread but I have my settings so it should automatically go there. On my PC it's easier than on the phone or iPad. Just no idea why it quit working for me.

Yes, I have it in my settings too. I was just suggesting that as a work-around until the problem is resolved.

Edited to say that "first unread" at the top has now disappeared and it is "jump to the end".

I think it says "jump to the end" when you have no unread messages in a thread.

Or, do you mean it changed to that even though you DO have unread messages?

You're probably right, I don't remember for sure now when I noticed it had changed. It does say "first unread" again now that there are more posts so that was probably it.

Edit - yes you're right, I checked before and after I posted and now it says jump to the end again. I should have realized that....

That's hilarious! I do have Apple but the other day I got spam saying that they discontinued my AppleID.
