Been trying to stay on top of the moth population for a few weeks. It seems like a losing battle. We were spared last year. But this year? They have come at us with a vengeance! The moth larva will kill a lawn in short order, damage a lawn even quicker. I am hoping the pesticides applied will kill emerging larva. But it seems after all the rain, the moths are out in force! Moths lay eggs. I have two bug zappers out. Not enough. I will mow tomorrow then top off the lawn with spray.

Does it attack only St Augustine grass?

I read they can affect both cool and warm grasses.

@porkpal. Since that is the only type of lawn we have in our area, they quickly make it a City infestation. Last year they said it was the worst infestation in 30 years.

Our "lawn" consists of pasture grasses - no St Augustine. So I wondered whether that was why I had not encountered the problem. Is it a local infestation? I have not heard if Fort Bend county is having a similar plague in St Augustine lawns.
