Hi everyone, I don't usually post here but I thought this is the most appropriate place for this! I think you all enjoy seeing butterflies as much as me. These are right off my camera so I didn't get to edit them yet.
First I saw either a Black Swallowtail or Spicebush (I didn't get a good enough look at it. These ones are tough to get good shots of. They always fly off when I try to sneak in for a picture.

Then I saw a Tiger Swallowtail. There wasn't much left of it though.

Then I spotted a Giant Swallowtail which is super exciting for me because they aren't really known as a regular butterfly here. This is the third year in a row I got a picture of one here. It was a little banged up.

This must be swallowtail day. They are in my yard in full force also. Is that a tear in the wing? How can it fly?
These two kept flying together.

Did you see the Regular Tiger? It is missing half it's top left wing and it's lower right wing. And still could fly no problem! I saw a Monarch a little while after posting.

Also saw a Red Spotted Purple but no picture.

Shortly after taking a picture of a Tiger Swallowtail on Joe Pye Weed I noticed another that looked a bit smaller. Here we have an overlap of Canadian Tiger Swallowtails and Eastern Tiger Swallowtails. Plus we have a hybrid of the two. The only thing I know for sure off the top of my head, is the Canadians are smaller and show up earlier in spring. So anyway after trying to catch a show of the Canadian another Tiger came along and then with the best luck all three went to the same Joe Pye Weed! I was so excited. Hurray! I wish I could have got a better shot but this was my best. I think it will look even better if I fine tune the exposure a little.
