I have used the brass and plastic quick disconnects on garden hose.

My new favorite is Yardworks. Bought a couple of kits last year (or maybe the year before)

Menards carries a kit for $10 with a mailing rebate bringing down to $9. But who cares, this is a really good connector kit for $10

Just ordered 3 sets. Probably will not bother with the $3 rebate
