I think this agave is not A. utahensis but the more common A. univittata, which is usually pretty easy to distinguish based on that central stripe.

Maguey Mezortillo (Agave lophantha)

Cool. You might let them know about the ID, so they can update the tag on the mother plant. Your agave will enjoy a larger pot in the near future. These are fun plants to grow as they offset fairly regularly (and not in a bad way), so there will be pups to play with down the road. Smiling

Sure, go for it! Use a pot about the width of the rosette for starters. It's not a big agave so it will not get huge or out of control if you provide some extra space.
