The veg bin is open for the winter birds, Crowned Sparrows in this case, and first on their list this year was this beauty so I tucked a plastic pot around it for some protection then they went after an E. shaviana hybrid leaving those telltale, beak shaped bites and now has the same protection. Those crowned sparrows come and stay every year. They love spring flower petals and seedlings too. I'm putting Nov 1st in my calendar as the day to put the protection on next season. I'm tempted to see for myself if the Echeveria taste good raw. Plenty of water around for them so I don't think thats what their after. The beautiful E. 'Perle von Nurnburg' ,happily, will recover.
