Catalogues have begun arriving already. And so Garden plans must be changed to include new seeds.

Yes , it probably has ; for many reasons, this is the first year I really look forward to catalogs for a bit of time.
I think I will send out requests for more as the number I get has dropped drastically.

If you want a list of many, but not all , seed catalogs out there here is a good sample.

There is a similar list for Canada.
I think it is called Cindy's List.

Annuals Aquaponics Birds Greenhouse Seed Starter
Last year I didn't buy any seeds. I managed to sell all my plants grown from what I had collected in the fall. Well this year I needed to buy some. I love the Santa Cruz Begonias and the seeds arrived a few weeks ago. They have germinated and are doing well on my plant rack. I also bought Zinnia seed, some interesting pastel coloured Rudbeckia, a certain Petunia that never produced seed for me, customers are always asking for Pansy and Marigolds, so I bought that and a couple other plant seeds.
I use to buy from Parks Seed in the US plus Dominion here in Canada. I bought all I needed from Dominion in October.

Caroline,
Are we going to have a white Christmas? Just icy patches on trails left. Nice days for my river bike rides feeding birds.

Snow coming this afternoon---so might be a White Christmas.
I must bring some Seed Starter into house before it freezes-may already be frozen as in car since last week.
SS was selling it half price as they are going over to Pro Mix Brand.

I brought a bag of Pro-Mix potting soil into the house a couple of weeks ago to thaw it out (it had been in the unheated garage). I intend to propagate my two surviving fuchsias, which were in hanging baskets outdoors originally, but now they are house plants. One of them recently stopped producing flower buds and made new growth of just leaves. I have taken cuttings of three new shoots that were growing straight up, and Crossing Fingers! they will continue to grow upwards, un-branched, until they get to the height I want. I have seen some beautiful standard fuchsias grown in greenhouses and I would love to create my own fuchsia "tree".

No snow came ?

I went and left the fuchsias out, and they have been frozen.
I will buy new ones in the spring. I have many geraniums on the go, and more coming from cuttings and seeds. No room for fuchsia propagation too !

Your fuchsia trees will be beautiful.

My tiny santa cruz begonia seedlings are coming off the heat mat, I think all the viable seeds have germinated.
I gave my geranium cuttings their first trim to get the growth to come lower on the stems. In a couple months I will root all the cuttings I take off the original cuttings.

A Fuchsia tree, I never heard of such a thing before. Keep us posted on your progress JuneOntario.

Shovelling snow is main project for today !
Started some geranium seeds yesterday.
Ivy, Scarlet Picotee, a mix, and Salmon with narrow petals.
Leaving them to imbibe water and then under lights.

In the long run yes, but actually I get used to the short days and having to get stuff done now; I kind of miss them when its over.

What I am actually missing most right now is sunshine -- it's been in very short supply here lately!
