Just creating this thread to watch how my amaryllis freebies growth will be this 2012. Got them all from my aunt this New Year. All are noids, and will be fun to see how the flowers will look like. I am not even sure if this is the start of its Spring cycle to bloom or am I on the other side of the cycle when it is just going to be producing leaves. It has been unseasonably warm and dry at my aunt's area earlier.

Planting time 12Jan2012, some bulbs have older leaves:

Week 2 - the bulbs seems to have acclimated indoors now, and the older leaves have wilted giving way to newer ones.

Week 6
Will just confine monitoring on this one noid bulb with obvious flowerscape coming out. The other bulbs are just on their vegetative leafy growth cycle.

For this noid amaryllis bulb, happy to see a 2nd flowerscape on the leftside coming out yipppeeee!

Week 7

I have put a stake around the flower stalk and the actively growing leaves. For this week, it seems the first flowerscape is starting to open up even if it only has a very short stalk. The 2nd flowerscape as seen on the lower photo is still pacing it. So excited to see what color this lovely plant has!

The flower stalk I was waiting to bloom did not make it Sad Sad ..so will just wait and see on the other one in the same bulb if that one will be successful. Will just take it a day at a time, hoping as Spring warms up it will try to recover.

It is now 2013, and the amaryllis bulbs I have left outdoors the whole year of 2012 are just doing their vegetative growth all year round. Luckily we have a very very mild, drier winter this winter season of 2012 - 2013. I have one amaryllis in the group that was separately potted, and in early Feb 2013 I moved it to the garage, since it is not blooming anyways and the old leaves had already wilted, but the bulb seems very firm.

Checking on the one in the garage in late Feb, it is now sending new growth, so I have moved it to our south facing windows upstairs. Took this photo on 04March and I think it will try to give me a bloom..keeping fingers crossed! Big Grin Hope rekindled!

Tarev, I hope you get some blooms, mine are all finished for this season, they all bloomed beautifully and now have strong healthy leaf growth.

I have threads for my photos on Cubits, if you would like to see my Amaryllis here is the link.

Thanks for sharing your lovely bloom photos Margaret! Awesome blooms!

I am just hoping this one goes....it's been awhile since I have nurtured a bloom..so feels like re-learning again what this plant will like as it grows. Big Grin

Tarev, one thing I would do is to clean up all of the dead leaves around the bulb, less chance of bugs or molds hiding there. Be sure and post when it blooms. Smiling
