Hi! I'm glad you're doing a blog again! I'm the same way: I can't wait to start seeds for next year, but so far I've held off pretty well. I did start some Acanthus mollis seeds a month ago and I'm coaxing along 6 nice seedlings. I'm thinking of starting some celariac and parsnips, both to see if the seeds are still good. The trouble is finding space for everything!

Yes, space is definitely a limiting factor.
And trying for good light for seedlings.
I set up one shop light for geranium seedlings.

I read that the new compact fluorescent bulbs we're all using now are good as grow lights too. I put my pot of acanthus seedlings on the stove top, under my range hood light and they seem to be doing very well there. If this is correct, wow, would that save a lot of trouble, I could put pots of seedlings under desk lamp, bedroom lamps, etc.

I place plants near every window , but have not used ordinary lamps etc. Shop lights in basement helps.

Do you put timers on the lamps ?
