what is the name of your cornus kousa?

I don't know for sure, it's been in the garden for almost 30 years, so I can't be sure. Check out my landscape photo #527547 for a closeup view of the bloom.
Here in Michigan's zone 4b this dogwood only grows about 15 feet tall. It will only bloom if I fertilize it in late winter with acid fertilizer. Love the shade cave area it gives me in the heat of summer. We spend a lot of time together on hot summer days.

It's nice to meet you also Kathy. It sure is a healthy looking tree you have. This is my first year growing cornus kousa. I plan on grafting some named cultivars next year. Have you seen any of the variegated kousa cultivars




Some also have some very beautiful fruit that hang on the tree for a long time.




There are also some cultivars from Ukraine that are breed to have tasty fruits. Most of the ones in the US produce fruit that are too bitter to eat. I'm a huge fan of unusual edibles so the Ukraine cultivars have been on my radar for a while now.
