BTW, the water hibiscus is strange.......it floats in the pond, and puts out several
tall stalks......6-8 ft tall with several blooms per stalk. I'd never seen one here
until we found one at a water lily nursery.
I just found out it's a native to the southeast USA.

In the fall, I just cut the dead stalks to ~6". I have lots of seeds if anyone wants
to try growing them. The plant was expensive (~$50?) because it was fairly large when
we bought it about 7yrs ago, but has doubled in size since.
It put out only 1 stalk first year.....now has ~5-7.
