Did anyone else get a tree mail from lovethph? It includes a link to a site, along with name and rank in the army.

Yeah...I got it too. I'm guessing LOTS of us likely did. Terrible grammar for a US General, don'tcha think?

@Dave

Plz take a look @lovethph. As far as I can tell all they've done here is send out some tree mails, but the said T-mails are spammy at best, as the include nothing but a greeting, a 'wish to connect with you' and an email addy that is held on Yandex servers. (Why would a US Army General be using a Yandex email addy? Answer: They wouldn't)

I want to recommend that no members here try sending anything or clicking on the email they included in the t-mail.

Spammer. I'll ban their account and delete the 100+ tree mails they sent.

Is there a way to report spam or unwanted tree mail? I am receiving tree mail from Pierrette who is registered as a member (as of Oct 2017) and appears to have no other activity on the site. She is asking if she can use a photo of mine of Murraya paniculata for a book. I replied that my photos were free to all to use. But she keeps coming back with additional requests like can i provide a HD photo to which i replied a simple "No", how do i want the credit to read. I ignored the last one and now she is asking me again. It is starting to feel like spam.

The user Pierrette appears to be a legitimate person and not a spammer. Feel free to ignore any tree mail; you are never under any obligation to respond to any mail.

Hi Beverly. I've had several similar requests. The request for HD is because the photos we upload to the this site are optimized for the site and not as high a quality as the originals. The request for what the credit should say is also customary. They usually give credit, by name to the photographer. Often they bye the photo from you. I just sold one for $75 USD. In any case I was very surprised and flattered that my iphone photos would attract this sort of attention. Your photos are all very good. Good camera and good photographer. I hope this was helpful to you. I tip my hat to you.

I received a tree mail from Pierette last October requesting the use of a few of my photos for a book on indoor plants that the company she worked for was going to publish. I thought she could take the pictures from here but it wasn't possible so she gave me her e-mail address to send them. I was promised a copy of the book once it's published.

I received a treemail this morning from Pierette requesting my photo of Patchouli for a French book they are writing about house plants. Since this isn't a house plant, I just ignored it.

Thank you all. I was wondering if any other members had received similar requests. I think what made me suspicious was that it took her 4 separate tmails, when she could have laid out the program in one tmail. Thank you @HamiltonSquare for the HD explanation and input. I had an article published in the NABA magazine a few years back and getting the photos ready for publication was a process i was willing to go through because it was my article. This i considered more of an imposition Rolling my eyes. *Blush* , and i was not sufficiently flattered. I am in the middle of making a complex move to a bit further north on the Mexico coast (all the way up to zone 10) and maybe the stress is making me grumpy Rolling my eyes. *Blush* Still, it appears that she is only a member so she can get free photos and more and i asked her (politely) not to write to me again.
