Please, I have a request/question about the forum where we currently post our member-submitted gardening ideas and articles. https://garden.org/forums/view...

On some forums, over on the right side of the screen. there is a little blurb to explain what the forum is about. We currently have nothing in that space for the Gardening Ideas Forum. Maybe a few words to encourage folks to post an idea or article?

I am wondering if we could also put something there so folks can find the 'old' Articles and Ideas which I only recently discovered are in Gardening News https://garden.org/ideas/ and maybe also direct folks to the (classic) Gardening Articles in the Learning Library. https://garden.org/learn/artic...

I'm not sure if I used the correct links in this post so feel free to make corrections. Thank You!

Thanks dave. Thumbs down

I was hoping a few people would make suggestions of how it should be worded. Maybe a shoutout to a few...(not gonna list everyone):
@joannakat, @AnnaZ, @carolem, @Legalily, @frankrichards16, @LizDTM, @Australis Hey everyone, can you help write a blurb for the Gardening Ideas Forum? Thank You!

Shrug! Confused I'll give it my best shot but could use a ton of help.
Something like:
Do you have tips or tricks to make things better/easier in the garden? Done a gardening experiment? Found something to save time/money in the garden? Write a short gardening idea or a longer article to share with NGA folks so they can learn new methods. Photos help to make the idea/article more interesting.

After reading the articles here on the Gardening Ideas Forum, check out the other articles/idea from the recent past (add link here) or the oldies but goodies from the Learning Library (post link here).

@greene, great ideas!

About the writing though, I would stay away from the "short" and "longer" things. These were things that prevented people from posting originally. Same with photos. It took a decent effort to get this forum going and I wouldn't want to discourage members from posting now.

So, instead of "Write a short gardening idea or a longer article to share with NGA folks so they can learn new methods. Photos help to make the idea/article more interesting." Perhaps,

"The Ideas Forum is the place to post your gardening ideas and/or the How To of your ideas. They can be as short as one sentence, or as long as you like. All will be appreciated. Photos are helpful, but not required."

In, "After reading the articles here on the Gardening Ideas Forum, check out the other articles/idea from the recent past (add link here) or the oldies but goodies from the Learning Library (post link here)," I'd leave out the "after reading the articles here on the Gardening Ideas Forum." People can check out those links without reading the IF articles first. Maybe replace that with "You can find additional ideas and articles at (link), and at the Learning Library (link).

HTH.

Thanks...okay, I will do an edit here and let's see how it goes...

Do you have tips or tricks to make things better/easier in the garden? Done a gardening experiment? Found a way to save time/money in the garden?

The NGA Gardening Ideas Forum is the place to post your gardening ideas and articles. They can be as short as one sentence, or as long as you like; all are appreciated. Photos are helpful, but not required.

Additional NGA ideas and articles can be found here (link), and here (link).

Is that better?

Nothing to be embarrassed about, you did good!

If you really want to get people to post there, offer acorns for each new post! Thumbs up
