Great shots everyone!! Thumbs up

I have 2 red squirrels in my yard this winter, usually there is just one but I think this is a mated pair.

Hey, I love all the pictures of squirrels. I have so many squirrels but no pictures of any, sorry. I am really great at taking pictures of my flowers but aweful at trying pics of anything that runs or flies away. Rolling on the floor laughing I love the red squirrel. We don't have red squirrels here, only grey squirrels.

In MS we call the orange squirrel a fox squirrel. They get twice as big as a grey squirrel. We mostly have the grey squirrel.
Ya'lls photos are goregous. Thanks for sharing on a cold winters days. Mona

Linda & Margaret, Love your photo's!

My old backyard neighbor has a peach tree and lots of citrus trees. The squirrel's never touch the oranges or tangerines but devour her peaches. She has Loquat trees along her property line that produce an abundance of fruit each year and the squirrel's love the little loquat fruits too ... but there's enough of that fruit to feed the entire neighborhood and all the critters too! I guess I'd forgotten that the armadillo was the Texas state small mammal. I used to like them also, until I had to get up most mornings wondering how many holes and whether they had dug up one or more of my plants.

Bushey tailed rats... yes
here I'm plagued with the eastern gray squirrels.. they climb up the fire escape the 5 floors to the roof.. and then one at a time deliver a nut to my planters.. I get about a pound of them they have stashed away... when I go through my soil before spring planting.. they know my planters will thaw out weeks before the ground.. so they can get an early touch on their food.. I often get oaks sprouting.. and the nearest one is a few blocks away.. I 've had them eat chunks out of a gigantic eppi leaf I was rooting.. we go round and round...
they also have the black ones here

At our old apartment, I have this succulent which was always being buried by the squirrels. At first I thought it may have toppled over but to be buried, now that requires some effort. Looking at the succulent, I realized, oh I see, maybe the squirrels thought they were burying a peanut coz the texture of the succulent felt like that of a peanut. Rolling on the floor laughing
That succulent is this Haworthia reinwardtii:

Luckily the plant was resilient enough after being uprooted and buried several times Rolling on the floor laughing
