Hi everyone!
I'm not brand new to this site (I joined last year) but I'm new to the raffles. Just wondering, does one person win everything or are there multiple winners? It seems like there would be multiple but I just wanted to check, I don't want to enter a raffle if I don't need one of the prizes I'd rather leave it for someone else. Is there a raffle info page because I haven't been able to find it *Blush*
Thanks!

@missmaven --
There are multiple winners. And I just tossed you some acorns. You can use them however you like. Buy tickets or badges or throw them at someone else or just squirrel them away.

And I love your user name. Reminds me of Miss Marple, one of my favorite detectives, even if that makes me a geezer.

If I counted right, there will be 14 winners in this raffle.

At the deadline, Dave puts all the tickets into a software program that does a random drawing. (I bought 5 tickets, so my name goes in 5 times).

At the bottom of the list of prizes for the raffle, it mentions how the prizes will be decided:
"As always, the ticket buying window is open now and will close on April 19th at 7:00pm Central time. The drawing will be done and posted the following day. The first place winner gets first pick of all the prizes, and then the second winner picks, and so forth until all prizes are claimed. Important note for winners: If you are contacted as a winner and asked to choose a prize you have 24 hours to respond with your choice. If you do not respond within that time, the next placed winner will be contacted and allowed to pick."

And Dave's not kidding about the need to respond within 24 hours of when a winner is personally notified!

Wow thank you guys for replying so quickly and thanks for the acorns! Looks like I'll be buying some tickets! Smiling This is my third year gardening and I've finally gotten confident enough to branch out from summer veggies.
@tx_flower_child I love Miss Marple! Miss Maven was one of my childhood nicknames stemming from the fact that I had too many hobbies as a kid (and now I've added gardening!)

They are just so adorable! You are so right about the kids. What little treasures they are!!!
I'll admit that when I joined the NGA last year I saw these posts about raffles. At first I thought why bother, what chance do I have?? And I mistakenly ignored the whole thing. What an error that was!
So I gathered up a few acorns and purchased some tickets and I immediately got swept up in the RAFFLE. What fun it was! The kidding, the jokes, the comeraderie, it was all such fun!
And then the video was posted, those beautiful children, their little faces beaming!! I saw clearly what I had missed, what I had overlooked. It is not about winning. It is about the group, the fun, our kids, the plants, the friendship. Win or lose, it absolutely makes no difference. It is all about participation.
As long as I live and breathe I'll never miss another raffle. Hey I even managed to win! But then again, it makes no difference.

And now I come to this raffle. Acorns are flying everywhere, new members, old members, it doesn't matter. I just sit back and enjoy the raffle. And after it is over I am left begging for the next one to start so I can get swept up in all the fun, all the joy, and all that is part of the NGA.
Can we please have a sponsor to pass out helmets because with all these acorns flying around, I have to protect my head! Incoming! Rolling on the floor laughing

Sandy β€” You must have read my mind, or what there is of it. I was thinking it would be good to tell the new members about the video of the Whittinger family. The March video was a special treat since the kids all flashed us with their little 'piggies'. I'm sure it's still around somewhere. I'll look for a link and return.

Bill, I totally relate to what you wrote. Once you join in, it's some of the best entertainment around. You might have missed the time last year when we were all killing time waiting for the drawing. I mentioned that the only raffle I'd ever won was for 500 S&H Green Stamps at the Piggley Wiggly. That started a lot of comments about 'trading stamps' and finding pictures of them on the web and basically tripping down memory lane.

It is fun to see all the acorns flying around. Maybe I'll toss a few right now.

Not to be a killjoy but 5 acorns = 1ticket, not 1acorn = 1 ticket. Took me awhile to figure that one out. And now back to our regular scheduled program, those kids!!
