I haven't seen any leaf rollers on my cannas so far this spring. Shh don't say it too loud! I'm wondering if our two snowstorms this winter helped this situation, plus maybe fall cleanup instead of spring. Shrug! But I'm happy about it! nodding

That would be great! There has to be some good about this past horrible winter. ;)

Frank you visiting us in the southeast from Canada? No Bugs Bunnies although they are destructive enough, just for leaf rollers this time.
I agree Tifanny, this past winter was not our normal fair. Crying

My cannas are only about ankle high here but the Brazilian skippers have already appeared so leaf rollers can't be far behind. I had a terrible time with rollers last year.

I have had large clumps of Bengal Tiger and Australia for almost 20 years and never had any leaf rollers until last summer. I chopped them all down and had to keep chopping as the summer seemed to go on and on and they kept growing. New growth now is about 10" - 12" now and so far so good but if those nasties show up these plants will be toast.

I did find a bloom, but saw no leaf rollers yet. But the leaves looked pretty shabby!

Anything is welcome to munch on my Canna leaves as long as I get some blooms. But the rollers seem determined to eat all of the blooms. That's an unacceptably greedy situation. I'll forego Cannas altogether if that's all that is ever going to happen. But if the occasional harsh winter slows them down enough to get some blooms some years, that would be an OK compromise with me. My jury's still out, although the drought the past couple summers left my Canna patch much smaller, a few weak leaves just poking up. If it happens again this summer I don't think there will be any of those left, just a few in a pot that the folks redoing the city sidewalk pots gave me because I happened to be driving by & stopped to ask for some.

I don't want to jinx myself but after this past winter, I am seeing no aphids and NO daylily rust. Glory wouldn't that be wonderful?! I hate saying anything too soon on the rust but a lady can hope can't she? There is a caterpillar somewhere on my hibiscus but I can't find him.
I see his 💩. Rolling on the floor laughing

We moved here last August from Colorado, and joked that we brought the winter with us. We kept hearing about the mild winters, and ended up with several snowstorms and ice!

It hasn't stopped the aphids here though. They destroyed my pea plants overnight.
