Hi - I have a beautiful Singapore plumeria, 7 - 8 years old. It has thrived nicely in the San Antonio TX area, and is now a good-sized potted tree which has produced many blooms. We move it into the garage in winter, and keep the lights on at all times, watering sparingly. It goes back out onto the patio as soon as we're confident of the weather. It lost a lot of leaves over the winter but retained quite a few, and it looked pretty good.

The last few weeks, when it was still in the garage, I noticed its (still green) leaves start to *droop*. I mean, REALLY droop. He's now been outside for a couple of days. Weather here is still mild, sun hasn't been very intense. Watered him deeply when he went outside. Leaves have not yet perked up, but so far, none have dropped off. I do see some new leaf growth starting. Fed him a little 20-20-20 fertilizer.

I'm really alarmed at how badly the current leaves are drooping! Could you offer any advice, please?

I would be concerned too! I am quite sure the plant is dehydrated. I can see the stem in the background of your picture looking quite wrinkled.
Have you repotted the plant anytime recently? It may just need new soil. Regardless, what is evident in the plant is often related to the roots, and so I believe repotting it might be the best solution. And however much you would hate doing this, I would cut off a lot of the leaves, it is right now putting all its energy into sustaining those leaves.
Let us know what you find out.

I'm wondering if something is going on with the roots. It's not normally a problem, but there could be grubs or something eating the roots. Re-potting it may give you a clue. Good luck and please let us know what you find. Take a pic of the roots if you do it.

Hi Everyone

My evergreen frangipani has suddenly experienced leaf droop. At first I thought it might have been dehydrated so I gave it a good soak but to no avail.

Does anyone have a clue as to why this has happened. The flower buds are still opening. I love this tree and so hope I can save it???
